Strong Island: Chatham's First Peoples Walk

Wampanoag Shells is partnering with the Chatham Conservation Foundation, Inc to bring you a walk on Strong Island - October 8th 10am - 12pm

We will take a boat ride over to Strong Island where we will discuss the cultural practices and pre-colonial indigenous life of Chatham’s First Peoples. Topics will include traditional food sources, seasonal shifts, and the indigenous cyclical calendar. Trustee Tim Burt will talk about the Foundation’s conservation efforts related to Strong Island, the “gem” of Pleasant Bay.
