Calendula was thought to be a tissue healer in German folk medicine and was historically used for cuts, bites, burns, sunburns, scars, and other skin issues. It was even believed to be antifungal and a pain reliever. Calendula is a very popular herb in skincare products, especially for babies, and has undergone many clinical studies that provide evidence of the plant's benefits.
Lavender has a sweet, floral scent and has long been used in bath and body products. In fact, the name came from the Latin word “lavare” which means “to wash” and was given to the plant by the Romans who used it to bathe. Historically, lavender was believed to be antibacterial and antiseptic, so it was used for disinfecting minor cuts and wounds, as well as easing pain and supporting the body's natural healing process.
Plantain is astringent and moistening and works to draw out foreign matter from the skin. It is anti-inflammatory, tightens and tones skin tissue, and is useful for minor skin irritations.

*It is recommended to do a patch test for any new product you use, for allergy reasons. Many of our products contain plants in the same family as ragweed, daisies, and asters and may irritate those with allergies to those plants.*
